Shop, key, and ship

Part of Into the Dungeon.

Spend, unlock, and publish. By the end, the hero can buy a key from a merchant, open a locked door with it, and the dungeon is published online.

Being finalized. This course is being finalized and polished before it opens on Outschool in August 2026. The outline below is the plan for what your learner will build, and a few details may still change as we add the finishing touches.

What this class covers

A merchant to buy from
A merchant character sells a key in exchange for the coins the hero has collected.
A key and a locked door
The dungeon door stays locked until the key is in the inventory, then it opens.
Polish and publish
We add dungeon music and sound, export to the web, and publish, so the dungeon is ready to share.

Bonus challenges

Optional, just-for-fun challenges to try on your own between classes. Never needed to keep up.

  1. Add a second item for sale.
  2. Let the merchant haggle on price.
  3. Add a line of dialogue from the locked door.
